CURATION & EXECUTIVE PRODUCTION BY TRIADIC
_____________UNDER THE SUN marks Doug Aitken’s first exhibition in India and was conceived by TRIADIC as a multi-layered journey through time, space, and human perception. Presented across three floors of the Art House at NMACC, the exhibition unfolds through three interconnected chapters—Past, Present, and Future—each occupying a distinct level and collectively exploring how history, environment, and consciousness shape our experience of the world.
Spanning sculpture, moving image, sound, and a newly commissioned immersive light installation UNDER THE SUN questions the rhythms of contemporary life and our evolving relationship to place. The exhibition premieres a series of site-specific works developed over a two-year collaboration between Aitken’s studio and more than a dozen Indian artisans, resulting in works that merge local craft, material knowledge, and global contemporary practice.
From hand-crafted textiles and sculptural forms to large-scale video and architectural interventions, the exhibition reflects TRIADIC’s ongoing commitment to cross-disciplinary collaboration and deeply contextual curatorial work. UNDER THE SUN invites audiences into an expansive environment of reflection—one that moves fluidly between past memory, present experience, and future possibility.
